Where am I? KILN COTTAGE > HOME PAGE
WELCOME ...
Welcome to our home site. It's never going to be a big site but the aim is to provide a bit of interesting historical information about the parish.
The photograph at the top shows our
house in about 1940 when the low building in the foreground was a disused
malt kiln, hence the name. Here on the right is a fairly recent picture.
Hatherton is a hamlet which lies within the parish of Wybunbury in south Cheshire. The hamlet was listed under Nantwich Hundred in the Domesday book as Hareton when Ulfketel held it. The name means "farmstead where heather grows".
